"Surfing is definitely possible. However, we didn't go in the water! Three days of stand-up paddleboarding were on the agenda, as Salinas is a well-known spot. But even the drive into the town was truly disturbing! A complete industrial area, which was also kicking up black slag. The zinc factory is right near the beach. The discharges can't be clean! A stroll along the promenade isn't appealing at all. High-rise after high-rise. If I just look out to sea, everything is fine. After the first night, we went straight back to France. The money we spent on the apartment wasted. Anyone with a long journey and wanting to explore the area in a touristy way is unfortunately better off somewhere else..."
